How to Create an Agent

In SkyStudio, you can create customized agents for specific use cases. You can define the agent's purpose, behavior, and communication style through the settings available on the creation screen.
When creating a new agent, you can use SkyBuilder for assistance or configure all fields manually.
Section 1 — Getting Started
This section provides an overview of the agent creation process. It covers the basic information you need to become familiar with the interface and create your first agent.
1.1 Accessing the Agent Screen
To view your agents and create a new one, click Agent in the left-hand navigation menu.
Agent List
On the Agent screen, you can view previously created agents, search through your agents, and edit existing ones.
Frequently used agents are also displayed in the Recently Used section.
Agent Card Actions
Each agent card displays basic information about the agent and the available actions.

1.2 Creating a New Agent
To create a new agent, click the + Create Agent button in the upper-right corner of the Agent screen.
Structure of the Creation Screen
When the agent creation screen opens, configuration fields are displayed on the left, while SkyBuilder is displayed on the right.
The first section of the agent creation screen includes the Name, Avatar, and Instructions fields. Name and Instructions are required, while Avatar is optional.
Two Creation Methods
You can create your agent using two different methods:

If you do not want to use SkyBuilder, you can configure your agent by completing the fields manually.
1.3 Creating an Agent with SkyBuilder
SkyBuilder is an AI-powered creation assistant that helps you during the agent creation process. You can describe the agent you want to create using natural language and proceed through the configuration process step by step.
For example, you can describe the agent you want to create as follows:
I want to create an agent that analyzes sales proposals and summarizes the key differences between proposals for the user.

SkyBuilder can be used not only when creating an agent but also when updating configuration fields:

1.4 Required and Optional Fields
You do not need to complete every field to create an agent. The following table shows which fields are required:

After defining the agent's Name, optional Avatar, and Instructions, you can continue configuring the remaining fields on the same screen.
1.5 Step-by-Step Agent Creation
The following workflow summarizes the steps required to create an agent from start to finish. Each step is explained in detail under the relevant heading in Section 2.
Step 1 — Open the Agent Screen
Click Agent in the left-hand navigation menu, then click + Create Agent in the upper-right corner.

Step 2 — Choose a Creation Method
You can create the agent by describing it to SkyBuilder using natural language or by completing the configuration fields manually.
Step 3 — Define a Name and Avatar
Enter a name in the Name field that clearly represents the agent's purpose. You can also add an Avatar if desired.

Step 4 — Write the Instructions
Define the agent's role, responsibilities, tone, response format, and limitations in the Instructions field. This field is required.
Step 5 — Configure Model Settings
Select the model the agent will use and, if necessary, configure the Temperature and Maximum Tokens values.

Step 6 — Add Capabilities and Knowledge Sources
Use Actions if you want the agent to perform operations beyond the conversation. Use Knowledge if you want the agent to answer questions based on your own documents.

Step 7 — Configure Advanced Settings and Descriptive Fields
Enable features such as Memory and Follow-Up Questions according to your requirements, and complete the Notes and Initial Suggested Prompts fields.

Step 8 — Review and Create
Review your configuration one final time and click Create Agent to create the agent.
